“Darling, I want my gay rights now!” the famous 1969 rallying cry by transgender activist Marsha P. Johnson, as depicted in the film, AFTER STONEWALL, resonates today as those rights are in danger of being taken away from us in light of recent events.

As society continues to grapple with issues of transgender acceptance and understanding, Mark Saxenmeyer’s film, THE QUEENS takes viewers out of the politics and onto the stage with an exclusive look inside the U.S.’ most prestigious, longest-running female impersonator beauty pageant.
